US officials doubt Ukraine's chances of winning after receiving aid
(Baonghean.vn) - According to RIA Novosti, Politico quoted three anonymous US officials as saying that officials in the administration of US President Joe Biden doubted whether Kiev could make progress on the battlefield when receiving a new aid package worth 61 billion USD.

"Will they achieve what they need to win? They will eventually make some small advances, but that does not guarantee them victory," one of the officials said.
The dynamics on the battlefield have changed dramatically in recent months, officials say, partly due to a lack of ammunition on the Ukrainian side, but even after the release of aid, serious efforts will be needed to “reverse months of territorial losses.”
At the same time, Politico said, the US is questioning Ukraine's tactics and priorities, especially after the failure of the counteroffensive last summer.
During a press briefing on April 24, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said that the US acknowledged Russia's ability to achieve new tactical successes in the coming weeks, despite Washington resuming arms supplies to Kiev.
US President Biden on April 24 signed into law foreign aid, including $61 billion for Ukraine, after being approved by the House of Representatives and Senate.
"This budget package provides critical support to America's partners so they can defend themselves from threats to their sovereignty. We have committed to sending aid to Ukraine in the coming hours," President Joe Biden said.
