Experts speak out about the referee 'blowing the whistle' in the Long An - FLC Thanh Hoa match
(Baonghean.vn) - Coach Minh Phuong of Long An believes that the way referee Tran Van Lap manages the game is not unfamiliar to Vietnamese football. Meanwhile, an expert like referee Duong Manh Hung has pointed out the weaknesses of these "black shirt kings".
In the press conference room after the match on the afternoon of October 28, Coach Minh Phuong said: "Since I was a player, I have experienced such incidents. A typical example was the incident at Chi Lang Stadium when I was playing for Long An and playing against Da Nang. Just a split second of the referee's whistle affected the result of the whole match."
“I won’t discuss the refereeing issue further, it’s an eternal issue with Vietnamese football. We accept the game, so we don’t complain about the refereeing.”
"I don't understand why when I encouraged my players to try their best, the referee threatened to send me to the stands. Everyone on the field witnessed me calling on Long An players to calm down and not let their anger overwhelm them. When I did that, the referee wanted to strip me of my coaching rights," said coach Minh Phuong indignantly.

Talking about the situation of recognizing the goal for Long An, but then changing the decision of referee Tran Van Lap, Vietnam Golden Whistle 2006 Mr. Duong Manh Hung said: "This is not a difficult situation but the assistant referee lacked concentration so he could not make his decision. When the assistant did not raise the flag to signal offside, of course the main referee recognized the goal.
The TV camera angle did not clearly show whether the Long An foreign player was offside. Here, the referee team showed a lack of courage on the field. The assistant referee changed his decision, the main referee also immediately "blows the whistle" accordingly. This is not against the rules and if the final decision of the referee team is correct, then it is fine. But what if it is the wrong decision?", former referee Duong Manh Hung questioned.
"The ball's flight path was quite long and very fast. Who can be sure that the moment the ball left the passer's foot, the Long An foreign player was offside? If it were me, I would keep my decision and not change it." - Mr. Duong Manh Hung concluded./.
