Guardiola is not allowed to 'gut' Bayern

Midfielder Douglas Costa revealed that Bayern Munich have a binding clause, preventing Pep Guardiola from "gutting" his former club.

Guardiola was the one who brought Costa to Bayern in the summer of 2015 and helped the Brazilian player have an explosive first season at the Allianz Arena. However, when asked about the possibility of following the coach to Man City, Costa quickly denied it.

"Would I listen to Pep's call? He can't because there is a clause in his contract that says Pep cannot sign any Bayern player," Costa told Globo Esporte.

"I'm enjoying my time at Bayern and the club has a policy of keeping players for a long time. This makes me very happy. From Shakhtar to Bayern is a big step and I can't believe how important I became immediately. Last season was the best year of my career."

Costa played 47 games in all competitions for Bayern in his first season, proving his worth at a time when star wingers Ribery and Robben were often injured.
