Send notification to homeowner before theft
In the letter left on the doorstep, Nghia wrote: "The chicken is still young, we will come and catch it next month."
Dai Loc District Police (Quang Nam) are detaining Duong Trong Nghia (24 years old, in Dai Phong commune) on charges of leading a motorbike theft ring.
Nghia confessed that he was released from prison in June and had a relationship with Pham Thi Thuy Tien (28 years old), a karaoke hostess. They were both drug addicts so they decided to steal together.
On November 11, when he discovered the homeowner was negligent, Nghia entered the house and stole the car, while Tien stood outside to keep watch. That same evening, Nghia sold the car for 2.5 million VND. Before that, the couple and some others had successfully stolen 5 cars.

According to authorities, Nghia has four previous convictions for theft. In his previous crimes, Nghia had stolen dogs and chickens dozens of times in an arrogant manner.
Before each robbery, Nghia placed a letter on the homeowner's door that said, "The chickens are still young. We'll come and get them next month." Exactly one month later, Nghia returned to steal all the chickens. Once, after stealing, Nghia left a letter for the homeowner saying, "The dog barks too loudly. We'll come and get the dog next time." The next day, the dog was taken away.
