Hanoi is resilient, gallant and elegant through the pages of books.
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), Kim Dong Publishing House republishes and introduces many outstanding books about Hanoi, demonstrating its rich history, cultural depth, elegant and gallant traditions, and the courage and resilience of Hanoians.
Outstanding among the publications about Hanoi on this occasion are two Vietnamese and English versions of the pop-up books “Hanoi - A Thousand Years of Memories” and “Hanoi - Reminiscences of a Thousand Years”.
"Hanoi - a thousand years of memories" vividly recreates iconic images of the glorious thousand-year history of Thang Long - Hanoi. With the form of a pop-up - 3D book, the book brings readers, especially children, surprising and interesting visual and interactive experiences.

Also on this occasion, Kim Dong Publishing House released for the first time the 2D edition of “Hanoi, a Thousand Years of Memories”, to help readers learn about 11 famous landscapes of Hanoi through vivid color pages.
Kim Dong Publishing House also republished the book series "Thang Long - Hanoi Stories" including 5 books "Eternal Capital", "Thousand-Year Architecture", "Miracle Against Foreign Invaders", "Hanoi's Famous People", "Hanoi's Scenery". The book series was first published in 2013, targeting primary school age, with a question-and-answer format about historical knowledge, famous people, and culture. In this reprint, the book series has a new look and many contents have been updated and supplemented. On this occasion, Kim Dong Publishing House also organized a booth to display books about Hanoi at the National Library of Vietnam (31 Trang Thi, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi) from October 9 to 13.
