Two drug-addicted brothers pretend to be motorbike taxi drivers and commit a series of thefts.
Phuc and Hung are two brothers and both are heavy drug addicts. To have money to buy drugs, these two subjects pretended to be technology motorbike taxi drivers (Grabbike), going around the alleys in the district looking for families with no one to look after them and break in to steal property.
On March 16, Binh Chanh District Police, Ho Chi Minh City, are detaining Vo Anh Phuc (born 1994) and Vo Anh Hung (born 1995, residing in Binh Chanh) to clarify the act of "property theft".
Previously, at noon on March 12, Phuc and Hung drove a motorbike to the house without a number in Hamlet 3, Vinh Loc A Commune, owned by Nguyen Van Dai (born in 1978). When they discovered that no one was home, they broke in, took a 43-inch TV, 2 tablets, and escaped.
Passing by the house of Ms. Phan Thi Hong Diem (born in 1988), seeing the door locked from the outside, 2 subjects broke the lock and stole a 43-inch TV and a tablet. When they reached the 2-6 inter-hamlet road, the 2 subjects were discovered by the Vinh Loc A Commune Police and were asked to stop the vehicle for an administrative check. Phuc and Hung did not comply with the order but increased the speed to run away, so the patrol team chased them.

When Lieutenant Ho Minh Triet approached the two suspects' car and pulled out his support weapon to shoot into the air, Phuc and Hung threw two televisions at Lieutenant Triet, causing the gun to go off and the bullet to graze the hip of one of Phuc's brothers. The patrol team immediately restrained both Phuc brothers and brought them back to headquarters.
At the Investigation Agency, the two Phuc brothers confessed that, in addition to the two thefts above, the two Phuc brothers also broke into a mobile phone store in Duc Hoa, Long An and stole 15 mobile phones, 5 tablets, and 1 iPad. Binh Chanh District Police have recovered all of these assets.
