Father and son transport 5 heroin cakes, 8kg of crystal meth

(Baonghean.vn) - The Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Nghe An Province Police successfully broke up Project 817K, arresting 2 subjects illegally trading 5 heroin cakes, 8 kg of crystal meth and 400 synthetic drug pills.

Using professional measures, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department discovered a drug trafficking ring that illegally traded large quantities of drugs from Laos through small-scale routes into Ky Son district, Nghe An, and then transported them to northern provinces for consumption.

The ringleader, Quang Van Ai (born in 1976), residing in Chieu Luu commune, Ky Son district, had a previous sentence of 12 years in prison for illegal drug trafficking.

Project 817K was quickly established.

From private sources, on the evening of December 29, 2017, Quang Van Ai received a large amount of drugs from Laotian subjects to transport for sale, the Task Force decided to crack the case. Accordingly, the working groups conducted an ambush and interception in the Doc Bam area, Cam Son commune, Anh Son district.

At 8:30 p.m. the same day, when the subject drove car with license plate 38A-016.64 to the above-mentioned area, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department coordinated with Traffic Control Patrol Team 1-7 (Road and Railway Traffic Police Department) and a number of related professional units to successfully arrest the subject Quang Van Ai and his son Quang Van Toan (born in 1998).

The seized evidence included 5 heroin cakes, 8 kg of crystal meth and 400 synthetic drug pills hidden under the car seat by the subject.

At the police station, the suspects confessed to all their crimes. The case is currently under further investigation./.
