(Baonghean.vn) - According to the feedback of voters in Nghi Thuy ward, Cua Lo town, for many years now the lighthouse located in the area has been broken and no longer in operation. This reality makes fishermen feel "blindfolded" when entering and leaving the port and the creek. Meanwhile, this area has many rapids and reefs.
As part of the program of meeting voters before the Provincial People's Council meeting, on the morning of November 14, comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, delegate of the 17th Nghe An Provincial People's Council had a meeting with voters in Nghi Thuy ward, Cua Lo town.

Fishermen in trouble
At the meeting, voters of Nghi Thuy ward reflected and proposed many problems arising in the area. That is the situation of domestic water sources not only not meeting the demand but also not ensuring quality. Currently, the Cua Lo town water plant project, located in Nghi Hoa commune (Nghi Loc), under the Cua Lo town water supply system upgrading and expansion project has not been completed after many extensions. Meanwhile, according to the schedule, this project must be completed and put into use in 2018.

Voters also reflected on the current situation of the waterway system leading to and from ports, fishing ports, and anchorage areas that have not been cleared or dredged, affecting the movement of ships in the area. In addition, voters requested the State to allocate capital to construct and complete Road 2B, and invest in the construction of a drainage ditch on Road 535 to ensure people's lives.
Reflecting on the environmental pollution situation in the area, voters requested that authorities have solutions to handle construction waste and wastewater at waste collection points in the area, especially those located on Binh Minh Street and inner-city routes and residential areas.

In particular, voters said that the lighthouse guiding ships in and out of Cua Lo port in Nghi Thuy ward has been broken for many years. People have complained many times but it has not been resolved yet.
According to voter Dau The Anh - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Nghi Thuy Ward, the damaged lighthouse is considered the eyes of fishermen, but the fact that it is not working has made people feel "blindfolded" and caused many difficulties for boats entering and leaving the port and the creek. Meanwhile, this area has many rapids and reefs. Voters suggested that the local government coordinate with the Northern Maritime Safety Unit to find solutions to repair and restore the lighthouse to facilitate boats in the area.
