Mother and daughter run a ring that sells women to China

Each girl bought by a Chinese man as a wife, the mother and daughter from Tay Ninh receive 40 - 50 million VND.

On July 12, Tay Ninh police detained Nguyen Thi Kieu Oanh (39 years old), Thi Thanh Huong (38 years old), and Nguyen Thi Thanh Hoa (21 years old, Oanh's daughter) to clarify the act of trafficking women to China.

The previous afternoon (July 11), Oanh was preparing to take two girls from Tay Ninh by car from Mien Dong Bus Station to Hanoi to be sold as wives to China when she was caught red-handed by Tay Ninh Police in coordination with the Criminal Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) and Ho Chi Minh City Police.

According to initial investigations, in 2014 Hoa got married and lived in China. Knowing that many men living near her husband’s house did not have the money to marry, she told her mother to find beautiful, poor girls in the country who wanted to marry foreigners to sell as wives.

For each sale, Oanh and her daughter earned 40-50 million VND. To expand her business, Oanh contacted Huong to find young women in other localities. For each girl chosen as a wife, Huong received 10 million VND.

Before being busted, Hoa’s ring had sold 7 girls in Tay Ninh and Dong Thap provinces to China. Currently, 4 people have been rescued by the police./.
