Two victims of jealous arson have died.
On the afternoon of June 4, Cho Ray Hospital announced that two patients who suffered severe burns in a jealous incident in which seven people were burned by gasoline have died.
The 46-year-old patient died on the evening of June 3 (Nguyen Tri Hieu, identified as the arson suspect who caused the fire) and the 15-year-old male patient also passed away on the morning of June 4. Both patients were hospitalized with severe burns up to 90% and respiratory failure. The female patient with respiratory burns also being treated at Cho Ray Hospital is in serious condition.

Also on the morning of June 4, Children's Hospital 1 said it was treating two patients with gasoline burns in the same incident who were in critical condition. According to Children's Hospital 1, male patient VMK (born 2010, from Tan Hiep, Long Thanh, Dong Nai) was admitted to the hospital in a state of shock, with cool extremities, rapid and weak pulse, and difficult-to-measure blood pressure... Currently, the patient is on a ventilator, SpO2 = 98%, cool extremities, light pulse 116 times/minute, and a steady heart rate of 116 times/minute.
Meanwhile, female patient VNA (born 2010, from Tan Hiep, Long Thanh, Dong Nai) was diagnosed upon admission: gasoline burn shock grade III-IV, burn area 80%. The patient received intensive treatment: ventilator, anti-shock, antibiotics, bronchial lavage endoscopy. The patient is currently on ventilator, SpO2 = 98%, cool limbs, weak pulse 104 times/minute, clear heart rate 104 times/minute.
Children's Hospital 2 is also treating two patients, 13 and 15 years old, with 60% burns, grade 2-3. Both patients have burns on their head, face, and neck, so they have been intubated and given anti-shock medication to protect their breathing.
Previously, a fire broke out in a rented room in the early morning of June 3 in Hamlet 3, Phuoc Binh Commune (Long Thanh District, Dong Nai), causing many people to suffer severe burns and initially all (7 cases) were taken to Ba Ria Hospital (Ba Ria-Vung Tau) for emergency treatment.
According to Long Thanh District Police, the arson suspect is Nguyen Tri Hieu (46 years old, from Can Tho), living in rented room number 10, due tojealousset fire to room number 3 where his lover was staying, then set fire to his own room. This person was also injured in the fire and died on the evening of June 3. The case is currently under investigation.
