Two sleeper buses collided head-on, male flight attendant died trapped in the car

Phuong Trang passenger bus crashed head-on into an oncoming car on Highway 80, killing a male employee and leaving dozens of passengers screaming.

Phuong Trang sleeper bus was running on Highway 80, from Kien Giang to Saigon, at noon on September 16. When arriving at Vinh Thanh district, Can Tho city, the car was allowed to overtake a truck in the same direction but failed, so it wascrashed head-on into the Nhu Ngoc sleeper bus going in the opposite direction.

The strong collision caused the front of the two passenger cars to be deformed, causing dozens of passengers to panic and scream. Among them, nThe Phuong Trang bus attendant collapsed and died on the spot, the driver was injured in the leg; both were stuck in the car. Nearly 20 minutes later, these two people were taken out.

"The results of the on-site investigation showed that the fault lay with the Phuong Trang passenger bus because it had encroached on the left side of the road at high speed, causing the accident," said Lieutenant Colonel Tran Thanh Tung, Traffic Police Captain of Vinh Thanh District Police.
