Two Vietnamese strikers among top U23 scorers in Southeast Asia
The high performance of Cong Phuong and Tien Linh has helped these two players lead the list of U23 players with the most goals in Southeast Asia.
In the list of players aged 23 and under who scored the most goals in Southeast Asia, there are two names from Vietnam: Nguyen Cong Phuong (HAGL) and Nguyen Tien Linh (Binh Duong).
Tien Linh is having a brilliant season in the National Championship when he has scored 12 goals for himself. Considered a talented young player, playing alongside seniors in the club such as Anh Duc or Tan Tai, Tien Linh is gradually perfecting his skills to become a modern striker of Vietnam. Before round 24, Tien Linh was also the best domestic striker in V-League 2018.
As for Cong Phuong, the 2018 season is also the time when he has achieved his best form. Right from the beginning of the season, people have seen extremely positive changes in the player's playing style, and the worthy reward is the 11 goals he has scored. He is currently ranked second in the list of Vietnamese players who have scored the most goals in the V-League.
Currently, Cong Phuong is also the captain, and the most important pillar in the attack of HAGL Club. Even when the Pleiku home team is going through a series of bad matches, Cong Phuong still knows how to shine with consecutive goals, and efforts to create goals for teammates.
Not only that, with the goal scored against Hanoi in the previous round, Cong Phuong has officially risen to 3rd place among the best strikers in HAGL history.
Besides Cong Phuong and Tien Linh of Vietnam, this list also includes many other notable names such as Aung Thu (Myanmar), Worachit Kanitsribampen (Thailand), Ikhsan Fandi (Singapore), Irfan Jaya (Indonesia) or Safawi Rasid (Malaysia).
