Hamas declares it will not participate in ceasefire negotiations in Gaza
Hamas representatives said that this force will not participate in ceasefire negotiations in the Gaza Strip.

The representative of the Hamas movement in Lebanon, Ahmed Abdel Hadi, told RIA Novosti on August 13 that the Palestinian Hamas movement will not participate in the ceasefire talks in the Gaza Strip, scheduled for August 15.
“We will not participate in the talks scheduled for August 15,” a Hamas spokesman said.
Hamas asked Egyptian, Qatari and US mediators to present a plan to implement what was previously agreed upon, based on US President Joe Biden's vision and the UN Security Council resolution, instead of holding new rounds of negotiations, Hadi added.
Earlier, Egypt, Qatar and the US called on Israel and Hamas to resume ceasefire discussions on August 14-15. The leaders of the three countries said they were ready to make a final proposal to reach an agreement.
At the United Nations Security Council meeting on August 13 (Washington time), Russia called on the Council to seriously consider how to de-escalate tensions in Gaza and the Middle East region.
“We urge the Council not to follow the lead of Washington, which is only interested in protecting Israel’s interests and profits from supplying weapons to hot spots, and to once again think together about what measures the Security Council can take to de-escalate the situation in Gaza and the region in general. If this is a necessary site visit by the Security Council, it must be organized,” Dmitry Polyansky, deputy permanent representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations, said at the Security Council meeting.
The Russian diplomat noted that the Middle East should be a priority destination for Security Council visits, “not turning into political tourism.”
