Dozens of police chase car carrying 31 kg of drugs

Dozens of police officers chased a car driven by Nguyen Dinh Chinh, 25 years old, for 15 km and seized 31 kg of crystal meth.

At 2:30 a.m. on June 26, Chinh was driving a 5-seat car carrying Tinh, 26 years old, through Dien My commune, Huong Khe district when he was discovered by the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (Ha Tinh Police) and asked to stop.

However, Tinh did not obey the order and accelerated to escape from Ho Chi Minh Road to Huong Khe town. After 2 km, the driver turned back onto National Highway 15A, accelerating towards Ha Tinh city. Being chased by dozens of police in official vehicles, Chinh swerved to block the road.

The car drove about 15 km, reaching Phuc Dong commune, Huong Khe district, Tinh sat in the back seat and threw his black backpack on the road. A task force immediately approached and determined that the backpack contained 31 kg of crystal meth, disguised in many packages of dry tea.

A few hundred meters from where the backpack of drugs was dumped, the authorities' car sped up and blocked the car, controlling Tinh and Chinh.
The two suspects are being detained by Ha Tinh police to investigate a number of crimes related to drug transportation and possession.
