Dozens of African elephant tusks rolled in paper returned to Vietnam
Checking an imported shipment from the Czech Republic, Tan Son Nhat Customs discovered a shipment of African elephant tusks worth more than one billion VND rolled in colored nylon paper.

On July 19, Tan Son Nhat International Airport Customs Branch (Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department) said,through inspection of imported shipmentsfrom the Czech Republic, the unit discovered 31 pieces of ivory.
A batch of 15 kg of elephant tusks, which are on the list of wildlife specimens banned from import and export, was rolled in colored nylon paper mixed with many other goods.The value of this ivory on the open market is estimated at more than one billion VND.
The consignee is a 23-year-old man from Long An. When completing import procedures for the shipment, he was unable to present relevant documents.
