Goods passing through ports in Nghe An doubled last year
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 15, Nghe An Maritime Port Authority organized a legal propaganda conference to disseminate new Codes, Decrees, Circulars, and Decisions of the state related to the maritime sector.
The conference was attended by more than 50 members, representing Nghe An Maritime Port Authority, Nghe An Provincial Border Guard Command and state management agencies, and businesses operating in the maritime sector in Nghe An. |
The conference helps agencies and units operating in the maritime sector in Nghe An grasp the content of the laws in the new Decrees and Circulars to implement them well in the working process.

At the conference, members were presented with a summary of the 2015 Vietnam Maritime Code, which consists of 20 chapters with 341 articles. The scope of regulation includes: Regulations on maritime activities: ports, ships, crew members, etc.; Regulations on the application of the law to non-commercial maritime subjects such as military ships, fishing vessels, inland ports, drilling rigs, floating docks, etc.; Regulations on the application of the law when there is overlap.
In addition, members were introduced to Circular 26/2016/TT-BGTVT dated October 11, 2016 of the Ministry of Transport on the announcement of seaport waters in Nghe An province and the management area of Nghe An Maritime Port Authority. In which, Nghe An seaport waters in Nghe An province are clearly defined in Article 1 including: Nghe An seaport waters in Dong Hoi area to Nghe An seaport waters in Cua Lo - Ben Thuy area.

At the conference, members were informed of 4 Government Decrees on the maritime sector, 5 Circulars of the Ministry of Transport and 2 decisions related to the maritime sector in Vietnam and Nghe An province.
Mr. Vuong Binh Minh - Director of Nghe An Maritime Port Authority emphasized: Agencies and units operating in the maritime sector in Nghe An need to grasp and understand the new regulations of the Maritime Code, Decrees and Circulars of the Government and the Ministry of Transport to cooperate and implement well. Avoid cases where not understanding the law will lead to difficulties in handling matters related to the maritime sector later.
By the end of October 2017, the volume of goods through ports in Nghe An region reached more than 4.8 million tons of goods, a record high. It is expected that in 2017, the volume will reach about 6 million tons, double that of previous years. The number of ships entering and leaving the port by the end of October 2017 was over 2,800, and is expected to reach 3,500 by the end of the year. Collection of fees as prescribed by the end of October 2017 exceeded 150% of the assigned plan. It is expected that in 2018, the volume of goods passing through ports in Nghe An region will reach 8 - 10 million tons of goods, with about 3,000 - 4,000 ships. |
