Rocket Cave: The arduous journey of "merit"

(Baonghean.vn)- After the war, the event of April 28, 1996 seemed to be forgotten. For nearly 40 years, relatives of the Youth Volunteers were busy doing paperwork, their tears soaked the Rocket Cave. Finally, those who had fallen for the independence and freedom of the country were given back the glorious but painful title of martyr.

How can we not be sad when every day and month we see the families of the 33 Youth Volunteers coming to the quarry to ask for confirmation from the unit to complete the procedures for recognition as martyrs. Comrade Ho Sy Tung - Head of the Inspection Committee of Hoang Mai City Party Committee, former Secretary of the Youth Union of Hoang Mai Stone Enterprise from 1996 to 2005, recalls: “In the 2000s, relatives of the youth volunteers went to the quarry many times to ask for confirmation. But then they could not do it because they lacked documents such as the decision to mobilize the youth volunteers to prove their merits. And at that time, it seemed that people did not pay much attention to the policies for the brothers and sisters... The parents of the brothers and sisters at that time were all very old and weak, most of them had passed away. The relatives of the Youth Volunteers were their own brothers and sisters. Their tears fell and soaked the Rocket Cave!”
