Thousands of people leveled forests to make internal roads
(Baonghean.vn) - Muong Noc these days seems to be more bustling with the bustling atmosphere of the villagers making roads. Nearly 6,500 people in 16 villages of the commune have donated over 700 million VND and thousands of working days to concretize 7km of dirt roads within the village.
On the nearly 1km concrete road of Don Cham village, Mr. Quang Van Phuong, Chairman of Muong Noc commune said: “Most of the intra-village roads of 16 villages in Muong Noc commune are dirt roads, crossing many slopes and forest edges with a road width of less than 1m, causing difficulties for transporting agricultural products as well as traveling for people. Especially, in the rainy season, the muddy and slippery roads make children in the village afraid to go out, causing their studies to be interrupted.

Faced with this situation, the local people and the commune government have begun planning to renovate the roads. However, because the entire commune’s population is almost 100% Thai ethnic people, and their lives are still facing many difficulties, it cannot be implemented immediately.
Until July this year, when they heard that Que Son commune did not need to use 1,016 tons of cement supported by the provincial People's Committee to build new rural roads, the Muong Noc commune government immediately wrote a petition asking to use the above cement to help people build roads. With the approval of the provincial and district People's Committees, from the end of November, all 16 villages of Muong Noc began to level the ground and expand the road.
As for the people, immediately after receiving the notice from the commune, everyone actively donated construction materials such as rocks, gravel and labor days, many households even donated dozens of meters of land to build the road.

Up to now, people have poured concrete for nearly 3.5km out of the planned 7km. According to calculations, the remaining road will be completed in the next few weeks to ensure traffic during Tet.
Village areas such as Don Cham, Muong Mun, and Na Phi have long been "black spots" for traffic due to their rugged terrain and many narrow trails. Now, their appearance has completely changed, bringing new vitality to the villages.
