Thousands of farmers in the border areas of Que Phong and Tuong Duong are good producers.

(Baonghean.vn) - On December 2, Tuong Duong and Que Phong districts held a ceremony to honor outstanding farmers in the good production and business movement in the period 2011-2016.

* In Xiangyang:The movement of farmers competing in good production and business, uniting to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty has been promoted by the District Farmers' Association in the past 5 years. The Association has proactively built pilot models of good production and business, and at the same time coordinated consulting services, supporting farmers such as transferring science and technology, vocational training to improve qualifications, credit loans, and providing agricultural materials with deferred payment.

With many practical and creative ways of doing things, the movement has attracted and encouraged a large number of farmer members to promote their will to be self-reliant, self-reliant, innovate their thinking and working methods, actively exploit the potential strengths of the locality and the internal strength of their families to escape poverty and get rich. By 2016, the whole district had 3,231 households registered for good production and business. Through evaluation, 666 households achieved the title of good production and business at all levels; of which there were 585 households at the grassroots level, 95 households at the district level, 10 households at the provincial level and 6 households at the central level.

The movement has changed the way of thinking of the ethnic minorities in the highlands. Many farmers have dared to think, dared to do, determined to research, experiment and expand new varieties of plants such as raising wild boars, growing mushrooms, growing flowers, ornamental plants, and developing industries.

On this occasion, the district commended 64 typical farmers with good business performance in the 2011-2016 period and elected 4 delegates to attend the provincial-level conference of farmers and business performance.

* In the past 5 years, Que Phong districtThere are many solutions to stabilize the macro economy, propose many policies to encourage and support investment in agricultural production development. Therefore, the movement of good production and business in Que Phong district is constantly developing in quantity and quality. According to statistics in 2012, Que Phong district had 1,102 good production and business households at all 4 levels, and in 2016, it increased to 3,572 households.

Good production and business models have attracted thousands of workers to participate in production, bringing in an average income of over 100 million VND per household. For example, Mrs. Ngo Thi Sua, Thai Dieu; Ho Van Khuong raises pigs, ducks, and fish in combination with a comprehensive farm. Or Mr. Tho Ba Chua in Tri Le, Ha Van Tinh in Thong Thu has known how to promote the strengths of the locality to raise large livestock to bring in high income. Households not only enrich themselves but also help workers have more jobs, and the poor borrow capital to develop the economy, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty. Contributing to reducing the poverty rate of Que Phong district by 3-4% per year.
