Observations show that the landslide is tens of meters long and has great depth. It is estimated that hundreds of cubic meters of soil and rock were swept away, creating a death hole, cutting off the only road to Phia Khoang village, affecting the lives of all the people in the village.
Immediately after the incident, the People's Committee of Ky Son district set up a team to inspect the actual situation of the landslide.traffic jamon this route. Due to the large landslide, there is a risk of further landslides, so Ky Son district requires local authorities and related units to quickly mobilize households living near the landslide area to evacuate from the dangerous area; assign forces to immediately implement barricades, put up warning signs, and survey and open temporary roads to avoid the landslide.
Chairman of Bao Nam Commune People's Committee - Mr. Moong Van Chan is concerned that the landslide is located on the only road leading to the village, so 65 households and 389 people of this village have been isolated for the past few days. Although the local government has surveyed and opened a small road for travel, because it is too steep, only motorbikes can pass. The local government hopes that the superiors will soon have a solution to overcome this problem so that people can travel conveniently.
Mr. Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Head of the Economic - Infrastructure Department of Ky Son district said: Through the survey, the reality shows that the landslide is 10m long, 3m wide, 10m deep, the volume of soil and rock washed away is very large, so how to fix it to prevent landslides from happening again cannot be done immediately and is not easy.
The proposed solution is to build a rock embankment, compact the soil, and build a drainage system on the road surface. However, due to the large budget, the People's Committee of Ky Son district will request the superior agencies to provide solutions to support the locality to quickly overcome the above landslide.
"This is a weak point, located on the only road into the village, so the construction must ensure quality, avoiding landslides when there is heavy rain, because if it is only temporarily repaired, the risk of landslides will still be latent, especially when the rainy season is approaching," Mr. Long emphasized.

For now, the local government has opened a path on the slope so that people can temporarily travel by motorbike and bicycle. However, this path must limit the number of people passing through to ensure safety and have a force on duty 24/7 to promptly handle situations.
Earlier, on the afternoon of July 23, a serious landslide suddenly occurred on National Highway 16 passing through Huoi Dun village, Huoi Tu commune, Ky Son district, paralyzing traffic. Local authorities coordinated with traffic management units to promptly resolve the situation to clear the road./.
