Unpredictable consequences if Ukrainian President refuses to listen to the West

Commentator Johnston Herwood, in an article published on American Thinker, commented that the failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' counterattack forced Western leaders to bring President Zelensky to the negotiating table. And if the Ukrainian leader does not agree, the scenarios could become "unpredictable".

Commentator Herwood said that since Russia began its special military operation, Kiev has received more than 70 billion euros in military assistance, but Mr. Zelensky does not think that this is enough. At the same time, countries that initially expressed strong support for Ukraine are gradually changing their views.

Western officials have increasingly expressed unease over Ukraine. Commentator Herwood said that the ban on grain imports from Ukraine by Poland and other Eastern European countries was a real blow to President Zelensky. Meanwhile, British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace recently criticized Kiev for its lack of “appreciation” for Western support.

Such reactions, Herwood said, show that Ukraine's partners are tired of providing aid.

“The situation is changing almost daily. However, if the counteroffensive does not produce any progress in the coming period, the heads of the leading countries will try to persuade Mr. Zelensky to sit at the negotiating table. And if the Ukrainian leader does not agree, the scenarios could become unpredictable,” said commentator Herwood.
