Nghe An Provincial People's Council will question about the fight against drug crimes and commercial fraud

On the morning of November 25, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council held a regular meeting for November. Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council chaired the meeting.

Expected 2 questions

The 12th session of the 17th Provincial People's Council is expected to take place in 2.5 days (from December 10 to 12, 2019).

The Standing Committee, the Provincial People's Council committees, the Provincial People's Committee and relevant sectors will submit 31 reports to the meeting for consideration, of which the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council will prepare and submit 5 reports; the Provincial People's Committee will prepare and submit 21 reports; relevant sectors will prepare and submit 5 reports.

Also at this session, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council and the Provincial People's Committee plan to submit 21 draft resolutions to the Provincial People's Council for consideration and approval. Of which, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council prepares and submits 3 draft resolutions; the Provincial People's Committee prepares and submits 18 draft resolutions.

The meeting discussed and selected the contents to be questioned at the upcoming session. After listening to the opinions of the delegates and concluding this content, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council assessed that the preparation work for the upcoming session of the Provincial People's Council was actively carried out.

However, there is not much time left until the meeting, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Council requested that relevant departments have a suitable and proactive working schedule to ensure the quality of reports and draft resolutions.

In particular, the preparation processes must meet standards; reviewing reports and draft resolutions, especially difficult content, must be directed more centrally, and reports must be timely. All types of executive documents must be innovated with quality, bringing the breath of life.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son also noted that the selection of discussion contents in the hall and groups at the 12th session must be focused, describing the important issues of 2019 and the tasks of 2020; at the same time, he requested the People's Committee to continue to coordinate closely, join hands to prepare carefully, ensure the progress and quality of reports and draft resolutions.

Regarding the content of the questioning, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Council assessed that the 9 groups of issues gathered for discussion were all important and needed attention. However, based on the discussion of the delegates attending the meeting, there were 2 contents expected to be questioned at the 12th session related to market management, combating trade fraud and the work of preventing, combating, buying, selling, transporting, storing and illegally using drugs.

At the 12th session, the Provincial People's Council plans to question two contents:

- Market management work has been focused on in recent times, however, the situation of trading and transporting prohibited goods, smuggled goods, counterfeit goods, and goods that do not ensure food hygiene and safety is still complicated. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Council assigned the Economic - Budget Committee to preside over and coordinate the preparation of content related to market management; the Legal Committee to preside over and coordinate the preparation of content related to drug prevention and control.

The Provincial People's Committee needs to direct the final resolution of a number of specific recommendations.

At the meeting, delegates listened to a report on the results of monitoring the implementation of voters' petitions in Nghe An province. Accordingly, since the beginning of the term, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council has forwarded 1,091 voters' opinions and petitions to the Provincial People's Committee; of which 928 have been answered.

In general, the Provincial People's Committee has actively directed departments, branches, sectors, and People's Committees at all levels to receive and respond quite fully. However, the Supervisory Delegation of the Provincial People's Council Standing Committee found that, up to now, the progress in resolving some voters' petitions is still slow and prolonged.

Concluding this content, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Xuan Son assessed that since the beginning of the term, the Provincial People's Council has paid great attention to implementing voters' recommendations; the Provincial People's Committee has resolved voters' opinions and recommendations better; the coordination of sectors and localities has also made efforts.

However, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Council said that through the supervision of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, specific addresses of petitions that were slow to be resolved were pointed out; thereby, the Provincial People's Committee was requested to select a number of specific issues to direct their resolution in specific conditions. In addition, attention should be paid to assigning focal points to handle petitions from voters in various sectors.
