The Provincial People's Council will elect an additional Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2016-2021 term.

The 8th session of the Provincial People's Council is scheduled to be held for 2 and a half days, from December 10 to 12, 2018.

This is the year-end meeting to evaluate the implementation of the province's socio-economic development plan in 2018 and discuss and pass a resolution on the socio-economic development plan in 2019 and many other important contents.

The meeting will evaluate the 2018 activities of the Standing Committee, committees, delegations, delegates of the Provincial People's Council; the Provincial People's Committee; the Court, the Procuracy, the Provincial Civil Judgment Enforcement Department; the activities of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee in participating in government building and the recommendations and proposals of the Fatherland Front to the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee.

The session also took time to evaluate the results of handling voters' opinions and recommendations and the implementation of the Notice of Conclusion of the Questioning Session, the issues promised at the Questioning Session of the 2018 mid-year regular meeting; the results of handling recommendations after supervision of the People's Council, the Standing Committee and the Provincial People's Council committees from the beginning of the 2016-2021 term to present from the Provincial People's Committee and departments, branches, agencies and units.

The Provincial People's Council is expected to review, discuss and approve 22 draft resolutions related to socio-economic development, national defense and security as well as related to the activities of the Provincial People's Council in 2019. The Provincial People's Council will also spend time to conduct a question and answer session with the Provincial People's Committee, relevant departments and branches on the implementation of policies for people with meritorious services and ethnic policies.

The 8th session is also the mid-term session of the 2016 - 2021 term of the 17th Provincial People's Council, therefore, the Provincial People's Council will conduct a vote of confidence for the positions elected by the Provincial People's Council, it is expected that 29 positions will be voted on and do personnel work within its authority, including the election of additional positions of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, term 2016 - 2021.

At the 8th session, the Provincial People's Council will pass the Provincial People's Council Resolutions and close the session on December 12, 2018.
