Revealing the cause of the truck crash that left 13 people injured and dead in Hai Duong

Also on the evening of January 21, Minister of Transport, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee Nguyen Van The and Vice Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee Khuat Viet Hung, along with leaders of agencies of the Ministry of Transport, directly went to the scene, visited and expressed condolences to the families of the victims, and coordinated with provincial leaders to direct the handling of the consequences of the incident.

Along with that, Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Duong Thai and Vice Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Anh Cuong were present at the scene to direct the handling of the consequences of the accident in Hai Duong.

As reported, at about 1:55 p.m. at km 76+410, National Highway 5, in Kim Luong commune, Kim Thanh, Hai Duong, a particularly serious traffic accident occurred when a truck with license plate number 29C-719.53 crashed into a group of people visiting a cemetery.

The accident killed 8 people (7 died on the spot, 1 died in the hospital), 5 people were injured and taken to the emergency room in critical condition.

Through initial verification, the truck driver who collided and caused 13 casualties in Hai Duong was identified as Luong Van Tam (born in 1991, from Nguyen Binh, Cao Bang province).

The truck with license plate 29C-719.53 has the brand - model number DOTHANH MIGHTYHD99TK, manufactured in 2016 in Vietnam. The owner of the vehicle according to the registration is NEWPRO Production and Trading Joint Stock Company, vehicle owner's address: Group 1, Do Lo, Yen Nghia, Ha Dong (Hanoi).

The vehicle was last inspected on May 15, 2018, with inspection valid until May 14, 2019 at Motor Vehicle Inspection Center 2906V - Hanoi.
