Donating blood and opening a charity closet in Tan Ky

(Baonghean.vn) - On December 10, in Tan Ky, a number of humanitarian activities took place attracting the participation of the people, including the second voluntary blood donation festival of 2017 and the opening of the charity wardrobe.

Continuing to respond to the humanitarian blood donation movement, with the spirit of "Sharing blood, giving hope", Nghe An Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center together with the District Red Cross and Tan Ky District Youth Union organized the second voluntary blood donation festival in 2017.

Through 2 organizing sessions, more than 1,500 volunteers participated, of which the proportion of youth union members accounted for more than 70%, the total amount of blood collected was 716 units (exceeding the set target).

Also at the program, the District Blood Donation Campaign Committee commended and presented meaningful gifts to groups and individuals who have made positive contributions in promoting and mobilizing people to participate in humanitarian blood donation. This is a meaningful activity, lighting up a source of hope for anemic patients.

In another activity, volunteer groups in Tan Ky district organized the opening of the "Charity Cabinet" at Block 7, Tan Ky town.At the opening ceremony, the volunteer group received many gifts including: cash, new and old warm clothes, necessities...

The group directly gave 3 gifts to 3 extremely disadvantaged households in the town (each gift was a warm blanket, a bag of laundry detergent, a can of cooking oil, three boxes of instant noodles, clothes...) taken from donations from benefactors.

The charity closet includes clothes, shoes, bags, school supplies, books and household items donated by the volunteer group and local and foreign donors. Through the closet, poor people in need can come and choose, try on items and will receive donations from the closet management board.
