Negotiate to appoint additional Standing Committee members of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 10, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee held the 11th conference for the 2014-2019 term to evaluate the results of the Front's work in the first 6 months of the year; key tasks for the last 6 months of 2017.

In the first 6 months of the year, the Fatherland Front and its members continued to innovate and improve propaganda work, mobilizing people of all walks of life to agree to carry out campaigns and movements chaired by the Fatherland Front, contributing to the successful implementation of the province's socio-economic development tasks.

Notably, through the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" chaired by the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its members, the work of building new rural areas in the province continues to have changes.

Up to now, the whole province has 152 communes meeting new rural standards, accounting for 35.5%; the average number of criteria in the whole province has increased to 14.06 criteria.

The work of caring for the poor and social security is taken care of by the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its members. The Tet for the Poor program, the whole province mobilized money and goods with a total value of more than 48 billion VND. The result of mobilizing contributions to the For the Poor Fund in the whole province in 6 months reached more than 10 billion VND.

From the mobilized fund, 339 houses for the poor were rebuilt and 22 houses were repaired; 750 poor people were provided medical treatment; 485 children of poor households were provided education. Also from the fund for the poor, the Fatherland Front at all levels supported 359 poor households with 1.8 billion VND to develop production and escape poverty sustainably...

At the conference, besides clarifying many results and affirming the clear role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its members, many delegates also frankly raised some concerns.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Hoa - Chairman of Nghe An Irrigation Association, said: Criticism is a manifestation of human civilization, promoting democracy, but in reality, there is still ideology, criticism is "looking for worms".

This leads to the fact that the criticism activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations are still "asking - giving"; that is, to be asked for criticism and given, then to be criticized, there are no regulations on content, programs, projects, or proposals that require criticism.

Also mentioning this issue, Mr. Nguyen Huu Ban - Member of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, said that the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its members need to participate right from the beginning in the process of building and proposing policies and resolutions of the province, so that when there are problems or difficulties in implementation, they can proactively take action.
