I think we need to make a lot more effort to develop Vietnamese football.”

Coach Park finalizes Vietnam team list to play China

The Vietnamese team eliminated 9 players to finalize the 23-man registration list for the match against China on the evening of February 1, the first day of Tet, in which Minh Vuong and some young players did not participate.

The eliminated players include goalkeeper Nguyen Van Hoang, defenders Que Ngoc Hai, Le Van Do, Pham Xuan Manh, Lieu Quang Vinh; midfielders Tran Minh Vuong, Nguyen Trong Long, Tran Phi Son and striker Ho Thanh Minh.

Among them, Que Ngoc Hai and Lieu Quang Vinh cannot compete because of Covid-19, while Tran Phi Son has just suffered a torn ligament injury and has to sit out. Phi Son was called up in the additional call-up with Van Dai and has been training at the VYF Youth Football Training Center recently.

Center back Bui Hoang Viet Anh finished the recent friendly match at Hanoi Club, and was only called up on the evening of January 30. He was immediately registered to play in the match between Vietnam and China.

General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Le Hoai Anh has made a quick report to the authorities on the preparations for the match. Accordingly, the match is expected to welcome about 5,000 to 6,000 spectators, including 350 Chinese spectators who will be arranged in a separate area with separate entrances.

Leaders of Hanoi People's Committee and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism inspected preparations for the match between Vietnam and China.

According to the new announcement of VFF, tickets for the match between Vietnam and China at My Dinh Stadium will be available for sale directly at the Federation's headquarters (located on Le Quang Dao Street, My Dinh, Tu Liem, Hanoi) from 9am to 4pm on January 31 and from 9am to 12pm on the day of the match (February 1), the first day of the Lunar New Year. The match is allowed to welcome about 20,000 spectators to My Dinh Stadium.

Match tickets come in 4 denominations: 500,000 VND - 700,000 VND - 900,000 VND and 1,200,000 VND.

But having to sell tickets directly instead of online like before proves that the attraction of this match is not great. Previously, for each match of the Vietnam Team, tickets would be sold out within a few minutes of going on sale online.

The reason why the audience was not eager to watch this match was mainly because the Vietnam team no longer had a chance to continue in the World Cup after 7 consecutive losses. Also, the match took place on the first day of Tet so people were reluctant to go to the stadium.
