Coach Mai Duc Chung: 'We will play our best against the Japanese team'
(Baonghean.vn) - Speaking before the final match against the Japanese women's team in the 2nd qualifying round of the 2024 Olympics, coach Mai Duc Chung said that the Vietnamese women's team is striving for the best results.
The Vietnamese women's team will enter the final match against the Japanese women's team, in the 2nd qualifying round of the 2024 Olympics. Before the match with the top opponent in the continent, coach Mai Duc Chung said that the whole team has prepared carefully and will strive to achieve the most positive results.
“Everyone knows how strong Japan is. They just had an impressive World Cup and ASIAD. Therefore, this will be a difficult match for the Vietnamese women's team. However, with the attention of the VFF and a high determination, we will do our best. Football still has unexpected variables. The Vietnamese women's team will try to achieve the best result possible,” coach Mai Duc Chung shared.

Before yesterday afternoon's practice session (October 31), coach Mai Duc Chung spent a lot of time reminding his players about the points to note in today's match, and also checking the squad to ensure that all players are in good health and physical condition.
After 2 wins, Japan is temporarily leading with 6 points (+9 goal difference). The 2nd and 3rd positions are respectively the Vietnamese and Uzbekistan women's teams. Both teams have 3 points (1 win, 1 loss), but coach Mai Duc Chung's team is ranked higher due to a better goal difference (+1 compared to -1). The Indian women's team is at the bottom of the table with no points after 2 losses.

Currently ranked 2nd, however, the opportunity to pass the 2nd qualifying round of the 2024 Olympics for the Vietnamese women's team is very difficult when in the final match, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will have to compete with Japan, while Uzbekistan will only face a team that is considered weaker, India. However, the whole team is still actively practicing with the highest determination, playing their best with the spirit of not giving up.
