Coach Park Hang-seo: 'It is very difficult for the Vietnamese team to defeat Iran'
Vietnam coach admitted that his opponent in the second match at the 2019 Asian Cup finals was at a much higher level.
At the 2019 Asian Cup, the Vietnamese team is in Group D. Coach Park Hang-seo and his team will meet Iraq (January 8), Iran (January 12) and Yemen (January 16). "To get into the round of 16, we must earn at least four points. It will be very difficult for Vietnam to beat Iran, but we will pass the group stage if we beat Yemen and Iraq," coach Park Hang-seo added.

Iran is considered one of the top teams in Asia. Under the leadership of Carlos Queiroz, former assistant to coach Alex Ferguson, the team won tickets to the World Cup finals in 2014 and 2018. Iran's goal at the 2019 Asian Cup is to win the championship.
The Vietnamese team is currently stationed in Qatar and will play a friendly match against the Philippines on December 31. Coach Park Hang-seo and his team are expected to travel to the UAE on January 4 to play their opening match at the 2019 Asian Cup four days later.
Coach Park Hang-seo believes that the Vietnamese team will achieve great success if they achieve their goal of reaching the round of 16 of the continental championship. In 2018, the Korean coach helped Vietnamese football transform when he won the silver medal at the U23 Asian Cup, reached the quarter-finals of the Asian Games and won the AFF Cup.
