Head coach of Hanoi Police highly praised his colleague at Song Lam Nghe An - Van Sy Son
After the draw in round 7 of V.League 2025/26 at Vinh Stadium, Hanoi Police Head Coach Mano Polking attracted attention when he praised Coach Van Sy Son. He highly appreciated the tactical marks and fighting spirit that the Nghe An team showed on the new captain's debut day.
The 1-1 draw between Hanoi Police and Song Lam Nghe An at Vinh Stadium left many emotions for Nghe An fans. In addition, this match also left a special mark on the debut day of Coach Van Sy Son. Although he had just taken over the Nghe An team, Mr. Son helped his students play bravely, forcing a strong opponent like Hanoi Police to share points. After the match, Head Coach of Hanoi Police Club Mano Polking gave sincere compliments to his colleague on the other side of the battle line.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Coach Polking frankly admitted that this was a match in which his team encountered many difficulties. This strategist said: “Coach Van Sy Son is an experienced person and has prepared very well for this match. He organized the team scientifically, helping Song Lam Nghe An defend firmly and play with determination. His players played passionately, focused and were not afraid of collisions. They really caused a lot of difficulties for us.”
According to coach Polking, the biggest difference of Song Lam Nghe An in this match was their fighting spirit and ability to organize defense. Under coach Van Sy Son, the Nghe An team played with discipline, moved reasonably and maintained high concentration. Despite being under a lot of pressure from CAHN stars like Quang Hai, Alan or Leo Artur, SLNA's defense still stood firm and only conceded 1 goal after more than 90 minutes of play.
“We controlled most of the game, created many opportunities but could not take advantage. SLNA defended very well as a team and always maintained reasonable cover. They not only played tough but also played smart. I was really impressed with the way they organized their defense under coach Van Sy Son,” coach Polking added.

When asked about the difference compared to the National Cup final last season, where Hanoi Police had a big win over SLNA (5-0), Coach Polking said that the two matches were completely different in nature.
“In last year’s final, we scored early and forced our opponents to push forward, giving us plenty of space to counterattack. But today, SLNA played a tight defense, the whole team stayed deep and coordinated very well. Such a well-organized team is not easy to beat,” he shared.
Despite only getting 1 point, Coach Polking affirmed that this result did not affect the spirit and goals of the Police team. He said: “We still maintain the motivation and desire to win. The season is still long, and the important thing is to learn from each match. I take full responsibility for today's result, but I also respect my opponents for the way they fought to the end.”
Not only did he praise SLNA, Coach Polking also expressed his special sympathy for Coach Van Sy Son. “He is a good coach, understands his players well and knows how to inspire the team. SLNA played as a unified team today, that was the clearest mark of Mr. Son on his debut day,” said Polking.

The CAHN coach also sent his congratulations to his new colleague. “I congratulate Coach Van Sy Son and Song Lam Nghe An. They had a great match and deserved 1 point. If they continue to maintain the same spirit as today, I believe SLNA will soon come back strong in the rest of the season.”
The draw at Vinh Stadium not only brought a valuable point to the Nghe An team but also affirmed the solid start of Coach Van Sy Son. Receiving respect and praise from an experienced coach like Mano Polking shows that Mr. Son's professional mark has begun to be recognized by a large number of home fans.
