Support rescue vehicles for the Central provinces

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 10, in Vinh City, Nghe An Province, the Central Disaster Prevention Support Fund coordinated with the Military Region 4 Command and the Department of Rescue and Relief, Ministry of National Defense to organize a conference to discuss and agree on some contents on training and rescue of shock teams and to donate rescue equipment to mobile militia platoons in Military Region 4.

Since 2011, the Central Disaster Prevention Support Fund has coordinated with the Office of the Flood and Storm Prevention and Search and Rescue Command of the Central provinces to effectively build and donate medical stations, schools, and community houses to localities; and give 11,000 gifts to people in flood-hit areas.

Support 14 provinces in the Central region to establish 85 specialized rescue teams in communes, hamlets, and specialized areas that are often affected by natural disasters and floods. Organize training on disaster prevention and rescue skills and support and equip rescue equipment to effectively serve the work of preventing natural disasters and overcoming the consequences of storms and floods.

At the conference, delegates discussed and agreed on a number of contents related to the coordination and cooperation mechanism between the Central Region Disaster Prevention Support Fund and the Military Commands of the provinces in supporting the improvement of the operational efficiency of the mobile militia platoons performing disaster prevention and search and rescue tasks at the grassroots level.

In particular, focusing on doing a good job of propaganda; organizing training courses on prevention, search and rescue skills for the Mobile Militia Platoon as the core force directly performing the task and retraining village and commune cadres, shock team members and people to grasp the skills of rescue, first aid and good use of equipment serving disaster prevention when situations occur.

Also at the conference, the Central Disaster Prevention Support Fund presented 20 aluminum boats, 20 portable speakers, 30 life rafts, 100 life buoys and 100 life jackets to the provinces of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien - Hue.
