Miss Trump called a pig speaks out about the debate between the two candidates

The beauty queen who was criticized by Donald Trump for gaining weight thanked Hillary Clinton, after she mentioned her story during the debate between the two US presidential candidates.

"Thank you Hillary Clinton. Your respect for women and our differences is what makes you great. I support you," Alicia Machado wrote on Twitter in Spanish, according to AP.

When Machado, a representative from Venezuela, gained weight after being crowned Miss Universe in 1996, Donald Trump called her “Miss Pig.” Hillary Clinton brought up Machado’s story near the end of the September 26 debate to criticize Trump.

Machado is a naturalized US citizen and can run in the November general election. She told reporters on September 27, at an event arranged by the Clinton campaign, that her story with Mr. Trump could be “eye-opening.”

Machado was genuinely surprised to hear Clinton mention her story. She said she was moved to tears and added that she wanted to help Clinton in the election.
