Miss Vietnam Student does not accept contestants who have had plastic surgery

On the afternoon of November 13, the press conference to announce Miss Vietnam Student took place at the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House. This is the largest beauty contest currently for students nationwide.

After 10 years of organization, the contest has had more than 9,000 female students from hundreds of universities, colleges and academies registered to participate.

This year, the competition is held nationwide with the themeThe beauty of intelligence, lasting from October 2023 to January 2024 in the form of direct selection.

Contestants are female Vietnamese citizens aged 18 to 24 studying at universities, academies, colleges and junior colleges nationwide; schools or branches of foreign universities and colleges permitted to operate in Vietnam.

In addition to ensuring academic scores, candidates are required to have good morals, good lifestyle, and not violate the law and school regulations. They must be 1.62m or taller, have a balanced appearance, and be talented in the fields of culture, art, painting, music, singing, dancing, etc.

The organizers of the contest emphasized that the contestants must not have undergone cosmetic surgery or gender reassignment surgery. In addition, contestants must never have been married or given birth. Those who have married according to ethnic customs but have not registered their marriage are also not allowed to participate.

Mr. Nguyen Kim Quy - Permanent Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, Head of the contest's steering committee - emphasized that the contest always focuses on the contestants' social knowledge rather than prioritizing physical beauty.

Designer Viet Hung shared that he and the jury will have training sessions and share necessary skills with contestants in building style and image.

“In addition to the crown, we aim for community activities. I want the contestants to bring positive things to everyone besides entertainment,” he said.

The organizers kept the judges' information confidential during the announcement. According to them, this is to ensure the fairness of the competition, and to avoid any problems related to the judges and contestants.

The contest will take place over 3 months with preliminary and semi-final rounds in 3 provinces and cities across the country. After the regional rounds, the organizing committee will select the 45 best contestants to participate in the national final round taking place in Ho Chi Minh City in January 2024.
