US does not ban weapons sales after series of shootings

Bans on the sale and possession of firearms will not be enacted in the United States even after serious incidents involving guns.

In the past few days, in different states of the United States, there have been a series of incidents of gun use in crowded public places.

"It is necessary to strive for control of the arms trade in the United States and a ban on the sale of guns to certain individuals, because it is no secret that all attacks are committed by mentally unstable individuals," the expert said, adding that it is necessary to find a solution "how to ensure that such individuals do not have access to weapons."

"This issue attracted the attention of the entire American society after the next terrorist attack, then turned into a constant debate in Congress and began a struggle between the Republicans and Democrats," - the expert commented, adding that no progress should be expected on this issue.

"The strongest supporters of the rights of citizens to own and purchase weapons are the Republican Party and the conservative movement in general. The prominent engine of this movement is the National Shooting Association, which has strong support in Congress," - Garbuzov informed.
