US to send more guns and ammunition to Ukraine this week

According to him, the armed forces of Ukraine will receive "guns and ammunition". At the same time, as Mr. Kirby emphasized, the United States does not plan to provide additional military aid to Ukraine. In addition, the Pentagon spokesman expressed hope that the Ukrainian military will use these various weapons, including the Javelin ATGM, "responsibly and in self-defense".

Military aid to Ukraine

On December 7, it was reported that the draft US defense budget plans to allocate $300 million in military aid to Ukraine. This figure is $50 million higher than the White House's request. In addition, US authorities plan to allocate $4 billion for the European Deterrence Initiative (EDI) against Russia. According to experts, this figure is $569.8 million higher than the US government's request.

On November 22, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexey Danilov thanked the United States for its military assistance. A week earlier, Washington had delivered about 80 tons of ammunition to Kiev. The shipment was part of an additional $60 million in security assistance to Kiev.

On November 24, Mr. Dmitry Peskov, Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, said that Western countries sending military advisers and weapons to Ukraine will add pressure to the border area.
