Hoang Van Khanh scored, U.21SLNA defeated U.21 Than Quang Ninh

(Baonghean.vn) - Preparing for the U.21 Group A qualifying round taking place in Thanh Hoa in early October, on the afternoon of September 27, coach Nguyen Van Thinh and his team had a friendly match with U21 Than Quang Ninh to test the squad.

This year's U.21 SLNA squad, in addition to 6 players from the first team who participated in V.League 2016, is a gathering of key players selected from the U.19 and U.17 SLNA teams. Gathering on September 24, all preparations by coach Nguyen Van Thinh for U.21 SLNA have just begun.

In the friendly match with U.21 Than Quang Ninh, U.21 SLNA took the field with a lineup that was still quite unfamiliar to fans. Including goalkeeper Ho Van Tu, fullback pair Pham Hong Dinh, Nguyen Tien Dat, central defender pair Le Van Hiep, Nguyen Van Hanh. The midfielders were Nguyen Van Duc, Nguyen Van Ngoc, Bui Dinh Chau, Hoang Vu Dat, Dang Van Lam and striker Tran Phi Ha played highest in the attack.

Facing a rather lackluster Than Quang Ninh, the young U.19 players of SLNA succeeded in keeping their net clean after the first 45 minutes of play.

Hoang Van Khanh was the only player to score for U.21 SLNA in the friendly match with U.21 Than Quang Ninh.

In the second half, Coach Nguyen Van Thinh started to deploy 6 players who had just fought in V.League 2016: Hoang Van Khanh, Pham Xuan Manh, Nguyen Phu Nguyen, Nguyen Viet Nguyen, Phan Van Duc and Ho Tuan Tai. At the same time, he only kept the pillars in the squad such as Bui Dinh Chau, Dang Van Lam, Nguyen Van Hiep.

With confidence and superiority in both technique, tactics and experience, Ho Tuan Tai and his teammates completely changed the game situation with consecutive attacks on the opponent's field. However, the U.21 SLNA coaching staff still had to constantly remind and adjust each error of their players, especially the unfortunate missed situations in the forward line.

Having to wait for an aerial situation, center back Hoang Van Khanh, in an attack, jumped high to head the ball and scored the only goal of the match. In the remaining minutes, coach Nguyen Van Thinh began to withdraw some important pillars to rest.

The presence of Ho Tuan Tai in the U.21 SLNA squad will more or less help the Nghe An team's attack significantly improve their scoring ability.

Coach Nguyen Van Thinh cannot be assured of his players' playing style even though the U.21 National qualifying round is just ahead.

At the end of the match, the faces of the U.21 SLNA coaching staff members were still not very bright, because most of the players were not in the best physical condition, their inertia was too great, and their playing style was not really cohesive.

This year's qualifying round, U21 SLNA faces a big challenge when they are in group A with Thanh Hoa, Viettel, Hanoi T&T, and Song Lam Nghe An, with Thanh Hoa as the group leader.

Next week, coach Nguyen Van Thinh and his team will go to Thanh Hoa to prepare for the opening match on October 7.
