(Baonghean.vn) - On September 25, units and localities in the province held many social and charitable activities for the poor and the elderly.

* Tan Ky District Medical CenterCoordinated with Dong Van Commune Health Station to organize free eye examinations for 97 elderly people in the commune.

Here, the elderly are examined for vision, intraocular pressure, refraction, fundus examination, optic nerve examination, and are informed about health protection and disease prevention. This is an activity to celebrate the traditional day of the Vietnamese Elderly (October 1, 2018).

This is the amount contributed by the unit's staff and workers and taken from the "Social Security Support Fund" to support schools in Nghe An province that suffered damage in the recent floods.

* Thanh Vinh Love Porridge Groupmobilized benefactors and members to support and give 25 gifts, including cakes, milk and cash, worth 5 million VND to children being treated at the Pediatrics Department, Nghe An Tuberculosis and Lung Hospital and Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital, to encourage children and disabled children who are hospitalized and cannot return home to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival with their families and friends.

On the same day, the Group representative visited and gave gifts to Mr. Ho Viet Tuat (84 years old) in Yen Phuc A block, Hung Binh ward (Vinh city). Mr. Tuat is disabled, lives alone in a damp room, his wife passed away a long time ago, and he has no children.
