Students with 8.0 IELTS still complain that English questions are difficult and long, many candidates 'turn around' and change their admission combinations
This morning (June 27), candidates completed the last two subjects of the 2025 High School Graduation Exam. Although it was predicted, many candidates still said that this year's exam was difficult and it was not easy to get high scores.
IELTS 8.0 still complains English is difficult
After more than 100 minutes of taking the 2 optional exams, at the exam site of Huynh Thuc Khang High School, candidate Nguyen The Quan said: I took the examelectiveBiology and Chemistry and I found the questions to be within my level, mainly to assess thinking. In the past, I usually got 8 points in practice tests, but with today's test, I'm not sure because I haven't checked the answers. I had just enough time to do Biology, and I did better in Chemistry, and I had 3-4 minutes to review the test. In general, each test is only 50 minutes long, so time is very tight.

Before this exam, students Linh Dan and Quach Thuy Linh from Huynh Thuc Khang High School planned to take History and Geography exams with the goal of graduating. However, after completing the last two subjects, they decided to “turn around” and change their university admission combination.

According to Linh Dan, this year's History exam was not too difficult and she was quite confident in getting 9 points. Meanwhile, candidate Quach Thuy Linh also said that the Geography exam was not difficult. With this exam, last year if candidates were allowed to use the Atlas, they could have gotten 9 or 10 points. This year, without the Atlas, candidates taking the Geography exam must memorize knowledge and think. Personally, I am satisfied with this exam.

With this result, previously these students were expected to take the Literature - Math - English combination exam, now both are expected to change their exam group to Literature - History - English or Geography - History - English because they are not confident in yesterday's Math results.
In addition to the above subjects, candidates also said that subjects such as Physics and Economics and Law had easy exams but still ensured differentiation.

However, with the English exam, many students like Linh Dan, Thuy Linh and many students who have IELTS 7.0 - 8.0 still complain that it is difficult. According to these candidates, the exam has many academic English words, new words, and strange words, so with the current vocabulary of many candidates, the exam will be both difficult and long and difficult to complete in 50 minutes.
The exam is suitable for graduation.

At the exam site of Do Luong 1 High School, candidates left the exam site in a happy mood. Le Phan Viet Ha said that this morning he took the Physics and Information Technology exams, and predicted that he would get 9 points or more in both subjects. Many candidates in the room also did quite well.

From the District Vocational Education and Training CenterDo Luong, Tran Thi Huong excitedly said: Previously, I took the History and Geography test and found the questions very difficult. However, this morning, when I picked up the test and read it, I felt confident and completed the test quite well, all the knowledge was within the scope of what I had reviewed.
Just coming out of the exam room, Nguyen Thi Lan Anh at the exam site of High SchoolMr. Son2, said: I am in the Natural Science department so I registered for 2 elective subjects: Physics and Chemistry. Both subjects have 28 questions and are divided into three parts.

Of which, 70% of the questions are at the level of recognition and understanding, suitable for the graduation exam goal, only 30% of the questions are for differentiation and high-level application. I see that both subjects from question 20 onwards have a gradually increasing level of difficulty, requiring candidates to know how to apply basic knowledge from textbooks and expand and improve.
According to this candidate, each exam lasts 50 minutes and the exam takes 2 subjects consecutively, so the candidates are quite stressed.
At the end of the final exam, candidates walked out of the exam site at Dang Thai Mai High School -Thanh Chuonghappy to have completed the high school graduation exam

Nguyen Thi Phuong Anh, a student in class 12C1, said: I took the History and Geography exams and found the test to be within my ability, not too difficult, and I hope to get 8 points for each subject.
Tran Thi Hieng, a 12th grader in A1, shared: I registered for Physics and Chemistry, each test has 26 multiple choice questions and the difficulty level increases gradually. To get a score of 8 or higher is difficult, but if you have a solid grasp of the knowledge and practice carefully, you will be able to do it.
After finishing the optional exam, many candidates left the exam room saying that the exam was quite suitable, all the knowledge was in the reviewed program.
At the test siteCo Do High School (Nghia Dan), candidate Pham Huy Thong said he chose to take the Physics and Chemistry exams: Compared to the mock exam, this exam was easier. Maybe it was the first year so the Ministry made the exam quite suitable. We just need to study the textbook carefully to do well on this exam. I did quite well on the exam.

Dao Thi Ha, at the Thai Hoa High School exam site, said that on the last day of the exam, she took the Physics and English exams. The female student commented that today's English exam had a high level of differentiation, the first 30 questions were for students with average and good academic performance, the remaining questions were for excellent students.
At the end of the third exam, the 2025 High School Graduation Exam in Nghe An province had 39,357 candidates participating in the exam. Of which, 54 candidates were absent without reason. No candidates violated the exam regulations. No other unusual incidents occurred. The exam took place normally, safely, and in accordance with regulations.
