High School Graduation Exam 2025: More than 40,000 Nghe An candidates enter the first day of the exam
This morning (June 26), along with more than 1.1 million candidates nationwide, more than 40,000 candidates from Nghe An officially entered the 2025 High School Graduation Exam.
This is a special and historic exam as it is both the first year of taking the exam according to the new 2018 General Education Program and also organizes the exam for students according to the 2006 General Education Program.

In Nghe An, out of 40,235 candidates registered for the exam, 39,392 candidates took the exam under the new program and 843 independent candidates took the exam under the old General Education Program. To prepare for this exam, Nghe An organized 72 exam sites and 2 exam sites at the Continuing Education Center of Do Luong district and Nguyen Truong To High School (Vinh city) for independent candidates taking the exam under the 2006 Program.
The 2025 high school graduation exam has many new points compared to previous years, such as reducing the number of subjects from 6 to 4 subjects, and reducing the number of exam sessions from 4 to 3 sessions. Candidates taking the graduation exam will take 2 compulsory subjects: Math and Literature. In the third exam session, candidates will take 2 elective subjects from the following subjects: Foreign Language, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Technology and Information Technology.

In these exams, in addition to the compulsory subjects, the remaining elective subjects, Geography and History are the subjects with the largest number of candidates registering for the exam with more than 17,000 students. The subject with the least number of candidates registering is Industrial Technology with 130 students.
With the 4th highest number of candidates nationwide, preparing for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam, Nghe An has mobilized more than 6,500 people to work as invigilators and serve at exam sites. Nghe An has also established a provincial and district exam steering committee and assigned tasks to each relevant department and agency so that the exam is organized safely, seriously, and in accordance with regulations.
Before the High School Graduation Exam, the Department of Education and Training issued a document guiding high schools to do a good job of preparing for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam and compiled sample questions according to the illustrative structure of the Ministry of Education and Training to send to schools, organized many mock tests on the LMS network, direct mock tests and launched the emulation movement "90 days and nights determined to achieve high results in the 2025 High School Graduation Exam".

The innovations of the graduation exam from 2025 are highly appreciated by the Department of Education and Training, schools, teachers and students, meeting the goals of the new 2018 General Education Program, which focuses on promoting the abilities, especially the creativity of learners.
According to the plan, on the first day, in the morning candidates will take the Literature test with a time limit of 120 minutes and in the afternoon candidates will take the Math test with a time limit of 90 minutes.
