Nghe An Consumer Rights Protection Association deploys tasks for 2025
On the afternoon of January 16, Nghe An Consumer Rights Protection Association held a conference to summarize 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025.
Attending the conference were representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Market Management Department and other departments, branches and units.

Nghe An Provincial Consumer Protection Association was established under Decision No. 2347/QD-UBND dated July 6, 2007 of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee. Up to now, the association has 7,468 members, including 15 collective branches and 16 affiliated branches.
In 2024, the association and its branches focused on inspecting, controlling, and minimizing the circulation of goods and services on the market that do not guarantee quality or pose a risk of causing unsafety to consumers. Detecting and preventing acts that infringe upon the rights and health, causing damage or threatening the lives and safety of consumers, creating conditions for consumers to improve their ability to protect themselves...

Specifically, the association has promptly resolved petitions and feedback from consumers. For example, on January 15, 2024, promptly reported that the Health Care Center at 35 Phan Boi Chau Street, Vinh City, sold salt products with questionable prices and origins; Mr. Nguyen Quoc Dat, Dien Van Commune, Dien Chau District, on April 15, 2024, reported that the electronics supermarket system in Dien Ky Commune, Dien Chau District, sold Sunhouse Apex brand gas stoves of suspected poor quality...
In coordination with the provincial Food Safety and Hygiene Department, 45 samples of supplementary foods were collected. Through testing results from competent authorities, it was concluded that all 45 samples of supplementary foods met the prescribed standards...

In addition, the branches also strengthen inspection and handling of violations affecting consumer rights.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Thang - Chairman of the association said: Besides the results achieved in the past year, the association's activities still have limitations, the awareness of some organizations and individuals about consumer protection is not adequate; A part of businesses and consumers do not care and clearly understand the rights and obligations related to the law on consumer protection, especially reflecting on activities that infringe on consumer rights, e-commerce activities...
In 2025, the Consumer Protection Association will carry out key tasks including: promoting construction and development. Strengthening propaganda and dissemination of laws on consumer rights and protecting consumer rights.

On this occasion, collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in consumer rights protection in 2024 received Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam Association for Consumer Rights Protection and the Nghe An Provincial Association for Consumer Rights Protection.
