Nghe An Red Cross Society deploys 2021 tasks

Nghe An Provincial Red Cross Society currently has 460 grassroots associations, 77,993 members (an increase of 3,853 members compared to 2019), over 18,000 volunteers, more than 89,000 youth, and 68 volunteer teams.

In 2020, despite many difficulties due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and unusual natural disasters, the Red Cross at all levels in the province strived to effectively carry out humanitarian activities. Social work and humanitarian assistance reached nearly 36 billion VND, supporting more than 66,525 people; with the movements: "Tet for the poor and Agent Orange victims" Spring Canh Ty, the Campaign "Each organization, each individual is associated with a humanitarian address", the project "Cow Bank”…

The “Mutual Love and Support” movement is regularly focused on. During the year, the Association provided assistance to 16,116 people with nearly 12 billion VND. The Association coordinated with volunteer medical teams to organize 30 medical examinations and provide free medicine to 9,997 people in remote areas, with a total medicine value of nearly 1 billion VND. It communicated about clean water sanitation to more than 3,000 people, distributed 507 tanks, basins, industrial and semi-industrial water filters to schools and people in extremely difficult areas; distributed 130 wheelchairs and rocking chairs to people with disabilities, with a total value of 1 billion 195 million VND.

The work of preventing and fighting the COVID-19 epidemic has been systematically implemented. The Association has organized communication for 12,341 people, calling for donations of gifts, masks, antiseptic water, soap and other necessities for concentrated quarantine units and people affected by the COVID-19 epidemic; with a total value of more than 685 million VND. The voluntary blood donation campaign has organized the reception of 32,144 units of blood.

In particular, during the flood and storm in October, the Red Cross called for support from organizations and individuals and acted as a bridge, coordinating timely relief and assistance not only for people in the province but also for other provinces with nearly 1 billion VND in cash and hundreds of tons of goods to overcome the consequences of natural disasters...

In 2021, Nghe An Red Cross Society at all levels will continue to promote the movements and campaigns of the Society, striving to achieve and exceed the set targets. In the immediate future, focus on the Movement "Tet for the poor and Agent Orange victims" in the Spring of Tan Suu. Continue to implement the Campaign "Each organization, each individual is associated with a humanitarian address", "Humanitarian Month" in 2021. Launch emulation movements to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Red Cross Society (November 23, 1946 - November 23, 2021). In particular, focus on directing the Congress of Red Cross Societies at all levels, towards the 9th Provincial Red Cross Congress.

The conference also organized the reorganization of the Standing Committee and the Provincial Executive Committee due to the retirement and transfer of work of comrades.

At the Conference, 2 Red Cross units of Thai Hoa and Quy Hop towns were awarded the Emulation Flag for 5 consecutive years by the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society; 35 collectives and 43 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit and 22 individuals were awarded the Medal for Humanitarian Cause; 45 collectives and 45 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Provincial Executive Committee and 8 individuals achieved the title of Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level in 2020.
