Swiss conference may not lead to 'a just peace'
Bloomberg newspaper commented that the peace conference for Ukraine in Switzerland is at risk of not finding a path to "just peace".

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he would continue to push for expanded international support for Ukraine, as a meeting of leaders in Switzerland risks failing to find a path to “a just peace,” Bloomberg reported.
China's absence from the two-day summit (June 15-16) and the participation of lower-level diplomats from BRICS countries have overshadowed efforts to win support from southern hemisphere countries, Bloomberg reported.
Switzerland hosted a conference to discuss peace in Ukraine near the city of Lucerne, in the luxury resort of Burgenstock. 92 countries and 55 heads of state, as well as eight international organizations including the European Union, the Council of Europe, and the United Nations, attended.
US President Joe Biden, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva are not attending the summit. The host country’s largest political party is also opposing the conference. Some participating countries are even pressing Ukraine to loosen its conditions and seek direct negotiations with the Kremlin.
Observers say the absence of several key countries from the Ukraine peace conference in Switzerland could expose cracks in Kiev's support base.
