More than 1 thousand soldiers compete at Military Region 4 Sports Festival

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of September 11, at the 414th Engineering Brigade (Nam Dan, Nghe An), the Military Region 4 Command held the opening ceremony of the 2017 Military Region Sports Festival.

More than 1,000 athletes from 21 teams, including officers, professional soldiers, defense workers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers from agencies, units, localities, and schools throughout the Military Region, participated in the sports festival from September 11 to 15 at the 414th Engineering Brigade and the Military Region Military School.

At the sports festival, athletes will compete in 11 events, including: Men's volleyball; Four combined military events; Strong soldier; Overcoming obstacles to train new physical strength; 10 km cross-country; Tug of war (no weight limit); Military swimming (100m with equipment package, 100m with gun); Table tennis (men's singles, men's doubles) for ages over 40; Badminton, unarmed combat in weight categories from 54 to 76kg...

The sports festival aims to evaluate the quality of physical training, sports activities and unarmed combat of agencies, units, localities and schools in the entire military region. Through the sports festival, athletes with good competition results are selected to form teams and organize training to participate in the 2017 Military Sports Festival.
