Over 30 billion VND to support poor children in Nghe An province

(Baonghean.vn) – On the evening of June 25, at the Provincial Labor Culture House, the People's Committee of Nghe An province organized the program "Connecting love, happily going to school".

Attending the ceremony, on the Central side, there were comrades: Vuong Dinh Hue - Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister; Doan Mau Diep - Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs; Le Tuyet Mai - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Children's Fund and representatives of ministries, central agencies, and Children's Funds of provinces and cities across the country.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Standing Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Nghe An Provincial Children's Fund; comrades of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, sectors, enterprises inside and outside the province; international charitable organizations; 65 children in special circumstances, representing children from districts in the province to receive scholarships and bicycles at this program.

Currently, in Nghe An province, there are more than 21,000 children in especially difficult circumstances, including more than 12,000 children with disabilities in the eyes, heart, mouth, limbs; more than 115,000 children are at risk of falling into special circumstances, in great need of attention, sharing and help from the community.

Over the past years, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee of Nghe An province have always paid attention to directing local authorities and all levels and sectors to effectively carry out the work of caring for, educating and protecting children, creating a safe and healthy living environment for children to develop comprehensively.

Along with the State's resources, in the period of 2011 - 2015, the Provincial Children's Fund mobilized nearly 100 billion VND from the generosity and responsibility of units, businesses, individuals, and philanthropists at home and abroad. Nearly 60 thousand children in special circumstances were cared for, helped and benefited from this fund.

Comrade Le Xuan Dai, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, called on philanthropists inside and outside the province, and international organizations to continue to extend their loving arms to help poor children, disabled children, and children with special difficulties in Nghe An province.

Speaking at the program, comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Children's Fund Sponsorship Council acknowledged and highly appreciated the generous contributions of individuals, groups, and businesses inside and outside the province.

On this occasion, he called on businesses, organizations, and kind-hearted individuals inside and outside the province, as well as international organizations to continue to extend their loving arms, share, and help poor children, disabled children, and children with special difficulties in Nghe An province. Such contributions will contribute to protecting and supporting children in exercising their basic rights, while encouraging and fostering the studious spirit of children - the future owners of the country, towards a better life for them, their families, and society.

Comrade Doan Mau Diep - Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded scholarships to poor students who have overcome difficulties.

Comrade Doan Mau Diep - Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee presented bicycles to poor but studious children.

At the program, 44 outstanding units, businesses, organizations and individuals with many contributions and help for disabled and disadvantaged children in Nghe An province in the period 2011-2015 were honored to receive certificates of merit from the Provincial People's Committee.

On this occasion, 3 Mien brand and UNIBEN company awarded 40 scholarships worth 2 million VND each; the program also awarded 20 bicycles and 20 backpacks to poor children who overcome difficulties to study well and received sponsorship from individuals, organizations and businesses.

Individuals, organizations and businesses present symbolic support money to poor children in Nghe An province.

As of June 25, 219 groups and individuals have donated, with a total donation of more than 30 billion VND.
