More than 6 billion VND registered to implement Humanitarian Month 2023

Humanitarian Month 2023 is held in May with the theme "Joining hands to build a compassionate community" as a peak month for Red Cross Societies at all levels to simultaneously deploy activities on propaganda, resource mobilization, and fund building with the aim of supporting people in difficult circumstances and vulnerable people anytime, anywhere, thereby contributing to the implementation of the Party and State's social security policies and educating compassion and goodwill.

At the launching ceremony, the Vietnam Red Cross Society of Nghe An province announced the results of the campaign to support the people of Türkiye and Syria to overcome the earthquake disaster and received registrations to implement the Humanitarian Month from 21 districts, cities and towns with a total amount of more than 6 billion VND (over 300 million VND for earthquake support alone).

On this occasion, the Nghe An Provincial Red Cross mobilized units, businesses, and philanthropists to present 101 gifts to disadvantaged households in Dien Chau district (each gift worth 2 million VND). At the same time, the organization distributed porridge at Dien Chau District General Hospital; organized medical examinations, consultations, and medicine distribution for people in Dien Kim commune (Dien Chau); organized gift distribution at "0 VND" booths; inaugurated and handed over safe houses to fishermen... with a total value of 500 million VND.
