Russian President Putin's final press conference in office will be 'very special'
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russian President Vladimir Putin's year-end press conference will be special.
Speaking on December 14, Mr. Peskov emphasized: “The interest in the above-mentioned press conference is very high. The press conference is expected to be very special because Mr. Putin's presidential term is about to end and we all know that he will continue to run for re-election. Therefore, the importance of this year's meeting is considered much higher than the press conference in 2012, when Mr. Putin was re-elected President.”

Mr. Peskov said that many questions related to the election process in Russia will be raised at the press conference held in Moscow this afternoon (December 14 - Vietnam time). 1,640 journalists have registered to attend this event - a record number compared to the previous 12 press conferences.
Since 2001, Russian President Putin has regularly held annual press conferences (except for the period from May 2008 to May 2012) when he assumed the position of Prime Minister.
Russian President Putin's annual press conferences usually take place at the end of the year so that he can summarize all activities during the year and is not limited by time. The shortest press conference lasted 1 hour and 33 minutes and was held in 2001 while the longest press conference lasted 4 hours and 40 minutes and was held in 2008./.
