(Baonghean.vn) - Coach Philippe Troussier is getting closer to the 'hot seat' to lead the Vietnamese national team; How much money is VPF paying Hoang Anh Gia Lai and V-League clubs?; Man City lends Cancelo to Bayern for free... are notable sports news in the past 24 hours.

Man Utd escaped defeat despite being two goals behind

Without midfielder Casemiro due to suspension, Man Utd once again struggled against a team that had just changed managers. With high spirits, Leeds went all out at the start of each half and scored two goals to take the lead. However, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho scored to save a point at Old Trafford, but could not help the home team get 3 points.

Leeds applied high pressure early in the game, causing Man Utd to falter, leading to captain Bruno Fernandes losing the ball dangerously in midfield. Left midfielder Wilfried Gnonto got hold of the ball, pulled it back and exchanged a one-two with Patrick Bamford. Fred tried to catch Gnonto but failed, allowing the Italian to get past him and shoot low into the near corner to open the scoring.

Man Utd paid the price for wasting their chances, as Leeds added another early in the second half. This time it was Garnacho who lost possession, allowing the visitors to pass to Gnonto on the left. The young Italian talent passed the ball to Crysencio Summerville, who then crossed it into the net, hitting centre-back Raphael Varane as De Gea stood still and watched.

Coach Erik ten Hag decided to take off Garnacho and Wout Weghorst to bring on Sancho and Facundo Pellistri. Without the 1.97m striker, Man Utd scored from a cross and header. Pellistri did a good job of shielding the ball before clearing it for Dalot to create for Rasford to jump high and head into the far corner.

Man Utd equalized in the 70th minute with Luke Shaw scoring first. The Man Utd left-back dribbled past two players, then pulled the ball back to Sancho. Shaw's cross wasn't good, but the ball bounced right into Sancho's path, then the English midfielder put it into the far corner, beating Meslier.

How much money does VPF pay to Hoang Anh Gia Lai and V-League Clubs?

Mr. Duc said that VPF did not support the clubs, which is a denial of the efforts of the tournament management unit, whose owner Hoang Anh Gia Lai was also a member of the leadership team.

"VPF has never supported the Club before.Hoang Anh Gia Laisomething, even 10 million VND", some newspapers quoted Mr. Doan Nguyen Duc after Hoang Anh Gia Lai filed a lawsuit against VPF. It is true that the amount of money that V-League clubs receive from VPF each year is not worth much compared to the cost of running the team. However, that number does not reflect VPF's indifference but on the contrary, is proof of this unit's efforts in supporting the teams financially.

Mr. Duc said that VPF does not support the clubs financially.

In fact, every year VPF provides support for all clubs participating in 2 professional leagues. This expense accounts for a significant part of the season budget of VPF - the unit responsible for organizing 3 professional leagues of Vietnamese football (V-League, First Division and National Cup).

In 2020, each V-League club was supported with 800 million VND and the First Division was 400 million VND. In total, in the 3-year period 2018-2020, the total amount of money VPF supported the clubs was 43.4 billion VND. In the 2021 season (cancelled midway due to the COVID-19 pandemic), VPF also provided financial support to the teams in the form of technical cabin equipment.

After V-League 2022, VPF sold V-League television rights at a record high price. Clubs participating in V-League and the First Division also shared the benefits from this revenue (about 60 billion VND/season), according to the division rate decided at the VPF General Meeting of Shareholders at the end of the year. This figure is certainly significantly higher than previous seasons.

Divided among 28 clubs in 2 professional leagues, the amount each team receives is insignificant compared to the operating costs of the entire season. However, this figure needs to be placed in the context of VPF's low annual profits after deducting the costs of organizing the tournament.

VPF’s revenue mainly comes from the participation fees of the clubs and sponsorship, advertising and television copyright contracts. This amount is high or low depending on the value or attraction of the V-League and the teams.

Man City loan Cancelo to Bayern for free

Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has confirmed the club did not have to pay any money to loan Joao Cancelo from Man City in January.

"The truth is that we didn't lose money on Cancelo. That's thanks to the good relationship between the two sides," Mr. Salihamidzic shared on Bild on February 8. Man City and Bayern are said to have a good relationship after the Etihad team sold midfielder Leroy Sane to the "Gray Tigers" in 2020.

Cancelo joined Bayern on loan until the end of the 2022/23 season, with a £61 million buyout clause. The "Gray Tigers" leadership has long pursued Cancelo. Coach Julian Nagelsmann believes the Portuguese winger can help the German club increase its strength.

However, Mr. Salihamidzic said the fee of 61 million pounds is too expensive compared to Bayern's potential: "Everything is still open. The important thing right now is that Cancelo feels comfortable at Bayern and can play the second leg with the team. We also told him directly that the transfer fee is an obstacle for Bayern."

The Portuguese defender adapted quickly to his new team. On February 5, Cancelo contributed an assist in Bayern's 4-2 win over Wolfsburg in the 19th round of the Bundesliga. Before that, he also had a "set-up" for his teammate to score in his debut match, a 4-0 win over Mainz in the round of 16 of the German National Cup.

Cancelo is among three new recruits joining Bayern in the 2022/23 mid-season transfer window alongside Yann Sommer and Arijon Ibrahimovic. On the other hand, three players leaving the "Gray Tigers" include Marcel Sabitzer, Gabriel Vidovic and Joshua Zirkzee.
