Hung Dung: 'Vietnam will beat Bahrain 1-0 or 2-1'
The midfielder who just left the Asiad due to injury believes that coach Park Hang-seo and his team will get a ticket to the quarterfinals, although it won't be easy.
"With what they have shown in the group stage, Bahrain is not a very strong opponent in the tournament," said Do Hung Dung.one day after returning from Indonesia.
“I think coach Park Hang-seo will let Vietnam play an attacking game in this match. Knockout matches are always more difficult than the group stage, because of the knockout nature. But I believe in a victory for Vietnam. The score could be 1-0 or 2-1.”

Hung Dung is one of three players over 23 years old that Coach Park brought to Indonesia. After participating in all three group stage matches, including two starting matches, he had to return home due to injury in the final group stage match against Japan. This was a big loss for Vietnam, because Hung Dung played very well in the role of a sweeper in the middle of the field.
Injured in his first call-up to the national team, Hung Dung admitted that he was a bit unlucky, but he is still optimistic. “I got injured not because I tried too hard in the match against Japan, but simply because I was unlucky. Injuries in football are inevitable, and I believe I still have many opportunities ahead,” the Hanoi player shared.
In the group stage, Vietnam played excellently with a perfect record, scoring six goals and conceding none. Topping Group D, the team entered the first knockout round to face the third-placed team in Group E, Bahrain.
Recalling the journey in Indonesia, the midfielder born in 1993 said: “Like my teammates, I always enter the field to fight with the highest determination, for the national team's flag and colors. The team spirit is very good at the moment, everyone is affectionate, close-knit and united. Even though I can't continue playing, I still follow Vietnam. Tonight I will watch the match on TV with my family."
