Huong Tram "competes" with Erik and JustaTee in the nomination list of Zing Music Awards 2018.

On the afternoon of January 3, the Zing Music Awards (ZMA) Organizing Committee held a ceremony to announce the top 5 ZMA this year. Erik, Huong Tram and JustaTee are currently leading with 5 nominations.

Among them, female singer Huong Tram, thanks to her hit song Duyên mình nhớ, was nominated in the three most important categories of the award ceremony, including: Song of the Year, MV of the Year and Artist of the Year.

Organizing Committee representatives, musicians Nguyen Cuong and Nguyen Hong Thuan answered questions from reporters.

At ZMA 2017, Huong Tram brought home two awards: Favorite Female Singer and Favorite Pop/Ballad Song (Em gai mua). With a series of impressive achievements, many opinions say that the singer of Duyen minh lo will be a strong candidate at ZMA this year.

Erik and JustaTee also hold two out of five nominations in the Award of the Year group: Artist of the Year and Music Video of the Year (Cham day noi dau, Thang dien). Having won the Music Video of the Year award at ZMA 2017 with the hit song Ghen, Erik is once again nominated in this category this year.

For JustaTee, the MV "Thang Dien" is considered a big hit of Vpop when it "swept" all music charts right from the time of its release. He is also considered a good artist when balancing underground and market elements.

Erik, Huong Tram and JustaTee received many votes at ZMA. All three will also compete in the important category of Artist of the Year.

At the event, musician Nguyen Hong Thuan expressed his special love for the MV Thang Dien. The musician said that this is a MV with impressive creativity and image investment this year. The male musician also supports young artists to invest more in content and concept for upcoming products.

Also this year, the rise of Indie/Underground artists reaped impressive digital music achievements. A series of young artists such as Dat G, Kay Tran, OSAD also excellently brought home 4 nominations in the Top 5 ZMA 2018.

In the New Artist of the Year category, 4 out of 5 faces are from the Indie/Underground community such as Dat G, Hoa Vinh, Orange and OSAD.

Emerging as a phenomenon of the year, Hoa Vinh also managed to put his name in the top 5 nominations for the New Artist of the Year category with the hit Don't Forget My Name.

The ZMA 2018 Art Council consists of experienced musicians and producers who understand the market and current music trends such as: Nguyen Cuong (chairman), Quang Huy, Ly Hai, Pham Hoang Nam, Nguyen Hai Phong and Nguyen Hong Thuan.

Musician Nguyen Cuong – Chairman of the ZMA 2018 professional council shared: “This playground belongs to the audience. The public is the one who decides which names will be announced on the award night. The art council is only the one who guides and selects the names that the audience loves and trusts to vote for.”

The Arts Council will select outstanding works or artists in the year's awards group. The audience will vote for awards based on music genre and favorite award.
