Tuong Duong district fined 12.5 million VND for posting false information on Facebook
(Baonghean.vn) - In 2 days, the subject posted false information related to Chinese people and the Corona virus twice on his personal Facebook account, causing panic among people.
On February 10, Mr. Lo Thanh Nhat - Vice Chairman of Tuong Duong District People's Committee issued Decision No. 192/QD-UBND to administratively fine Nguyen Quang D. 12.5 million VND for posting false information on his personal Facebook page.
Previously, at 3:20 p.m. on January 31, 2020, Mr. Nguyen Quang D. (born in 1985), residing in Hoa Binh town, Tuong Duong district, posted on his personal Facebook page: "In Yen Na area, there is a Chinese person who has been sick since Tet, but no one has come to check, so scary."
At 6:26 p.m. on February 2, 2020, Mr. Nguyen Quang D. continued to post on his personal Facebook page with the content "... How dare you say they are sick, not because of Corona, they have tested and confirmed. No one in Yen Na has been tested, they are sick, so say they are just sick, who knows..."

The decision clearly states: Based on the minutes made on February 5, 2020 between the District Police and the Tuong Duong District Medical Center, the case of Mr. Pang Jia Jia, a Chinese national in Yen Na who was sick, is the case that Nguyen Quang D. mentioned on his personal Facebook.
On January 27, 2020, Mr. Pang went to Xiangyang District Medical Center for examination and had a blood test and X-ray with normal results, diagnosed with pharyngitis; After being prescribed medication, Mr. Pang Jia Jia recovered on January 29, 2020. Therefore, the information on Mr. Nguyen Quang D.'s Facebook posts at 3:20 p.m. on January 31, 2020 and 6:26 p.m. on February 2, 2020 are false.
Pursuant to Decree 174/2013/ND-CP dated November 13, 2013 of the Government, the People's Committee of Tuong Duong district has decided to administratively fine Mr. Nguyen Quang D. VND 12.5 million and requested Mr. D. to strictly comply with the penalty decision. If after the prescribed time Mr. Nguyen Quang D. does not voluntarily comply, he will be forced to comply according to the provisions of law.
